November 22-Fill Me Up, But Empty Out First
“But you have come to Mount Zion, to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem. You have come to thousands upon thousands of angels in joyful assembly, to the church of the firstborn, whose names are written in heaven. You have come to God, the Judge of all, to the spirits of the righteous made perfect, to Jesus the mediator of a new covenant, and to the sprinkled blood that speaks a better word than the blood of Abel…Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe,”. Hebrews 12:22-24, 28 NIV
We have come to Mt Zion, where the sprinkled blood of the Savior has made a Kingdom for us to receive that cannot be shaken!!! We need to fall on our faces in thanksgiving and worship the Lord God Almighty in all honor and complete awe. It is difficult to wrap our minds around what it’s all about. It IS difficult to get a picture of it. But what we do know is that He is a good, good Father who deserves for us to live for him— not live a selfish life that breaks His heart.
“For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.”
Romans 8:13 NIV
While the heavenly Jerusalem is in the future, we have the confidence of receiving it. Our attitude still now, every day should be one of gratitude and reverence and our lives should be one of praise. Our destiny is clear but until then there is only one thing to do: worship God and obey Him.
Father, we worship you today, with all we are. Help us to empty our hearts of the things of this world—the things that block you from filling us because we want more of you and less of all that other mess, all that stuff that leads to heartache and sadness and death. You give life and hope and light to to the darkness. You are healer, provider, protector and we want more. Teach us Lord to follow you, in step with you as we run this race. Surround us today and speak to us in that still, small voice and may we tune our ears to hear you above all the noise of life. We love you and adore you. Hallelujah for the Lamb. Amen and amen.
Love you dear friend,
Pam
