June 24-Praise the Lord

Happy Wednesday. Yesterday while I was working, my grandson brought me something to drink. I was so relieved because all day, I had been really thirsty. It was my third glass, but I was every bit as thankful for that one as I had been the first one. Thankful, grateful, blessed when someone goes out of their way to do something kind for us. It’s a very good feeling when we receive when we don’t have to do anything and we want to pour out gratitude.

That’s how we feel when we consider what Jesus has done for us, all that he has given us.  “I will praise the Lord at all times. I will constantly speak his praises.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34:1‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Praise is our gift to God; we can’t ever pay him back or do something that could even approach what He has done for us, but we can offer our praise.

The above text says His Praise will continually be in my mouth. Praise God at all times, regardless of our circumstances. As a matter of fact, If we want to get through the rough times easier, if we want to enjoy peace of mind even in the midst of challenges, then we need to be praising our God.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 says, “In everything, give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you”. Simply put, our primary assignment on earth is to worship God, every other thing is secondary. That sounds pretty easy, doesn’t it? But when times are tough, that isn’t the first thing in my mind, is it yours? However, once we get our hearts and minds reoriented, even if we don’t “feel” like it, worship with praise will set us on the track for coming through the valley.

And just like the valley, when everything is going great on the mountain top, we can forget to praise our Creator God. When it’s really good, it’s pretty easy to concentrate on how great life is rather than thanking the One who makes it all possible.

“Come, let us tell of the Lord’s greatness; let us exalt his name together.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34:3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Lord of Heaven and Earth, you are glorious and we lift you high in praise and adoration. Teach us to constantly praise you and to always have your Name on our lips. We love you and adore you and we can never thank you enough for all you have done for us and all you that continue to bless us; it will never be enough. Give us the power and courage to live a life of praise in front of everyone we know. Help us to never be ashamed of Jesus and His work on the cross. Help us today to be led by your Spirit and to be open about who you are and how you love and care about all of us. We love you Lord, amen and amen.

Love you dear one,

Pam
