May 9- Enlightening the Eyes
God tells us that His Word, like the sun, illuminates and shines light on and in places where we thought looked pretty good. The holy words of God are so crystal clear that they bring light into the darkness and smears that exist in all of our hearts. God’s commandment wipes out darkness
“The commandment of the Lord is pure, enlightening the eyes” Psalm 19:8b, ESV.
Commandments are orders or divine decrees—the things God insists that we do and keep on doing. The NIV translates “pure” as “radiant.” This is the idea of a complete absence of impurity.
“...The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes.” Psalm 19:8b NIV
The world we live in is a dark place, and God’s words have the power to dispel all that darkness and confusion. It’s the cure for the common mess of this world and all its dirt, darkness and smudges. His Word is the light to our path and the lamp to our feet—He is our sunshine.
“He reveals deep and mysterious things and knows what lies hidden in darkness, though he is surrounded by light.” Daniel 2:22
Thank you God for revealing the deep and mysterious things through your Word. Your message is a lamp for our feet so that we need not stumble, a light for our paths so that we can know where we are headed, and above all, instructions for following you. We worship you Almighty God and we sing your praise. Thank you for your blessings and for the gift of salvation. You are the Almighty and you care so much about us and make sure we have every tool. You are amazing. Amen and amen.
Love you dear one,
Pam
