May 18-Our Peace, Joy and Faith

It’s the weekend! My family and I are having a weekend at the river. It’s a beautiful place and the weather is so far cooperating very well. We were out and about yesterday “in nature” but I was still shocked when I found a tick! No matter how perfect a place may seem, it comes with imperfections.

When Christ was telling His disciples “it’s about to happen” he left them with the gifts of Peace, Joy, and Faith which would be the strength for them to survive in a world that was anything but perfect.

““I’ve told you this ahead of time, before it happens, so that when it does happen, the confirmation will deepen your belief in me. I’ll not be talking with you much more like this because the chief of this godless world is about to attack. But don’t worry—he has nothing on me, no claim on me. But so the world might know how thoroughly I love the Father, I am carrying out my Father’s instructions right down to the last detail. Get up. Let’s go. It’s time to leave here.”” John‬ ‭14:29-31‬ ‭MSG‬‬

The cornerstone of our faith is right here—the fact that “the chief of the godless world”, Satan himself, had no power over Christ, but He gave himself up. In reality, Satan wasn’t even a tick compared to Jesus. He could have been flicked off like a piece of lint for all the power He had over the Savior, but our Lord took the walk because there was a debt to pay—ours.

I for one am super glad that He paid for me. I will be grateful throughout eternity for my Savior’s love that bought my freedom. Because of His great grace, I can have peace. Pretty awesome?

Lord Jesus we praise you for your love that led you to pay our sin debt. We sing hallelujah because of your wonderful mercy and grace for the imperfect people that we are. Thank you for taking our place and giving us peace, joy and faith to make it in this world. You are good and you are holy, the only great King. Amen and amen.

Love you dear friend,

Pam
