April 30–A Way Out
“The Lord will make a way for you where no feet have been before. That which, like a sea threatens to drown you, shall be a highway for your escape.” —Charles H. Spurgeon
One thing we can know for sure is that we are where God wants us to be—right at this point in time, at this place. He isn’t being mean or doing terrible things to us; he leading us through our specific journey, the one laid out for us before the foundation of the world. It may seem like some of these places and trials are tests God is putting us through, but truly, God has no intentions of worrying us, stressing us or causing us concern. He isn’t trying to keep us on-our-toes and fearful. “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7 NLT
When we fear, when we worry, we are doubting that God can or will provide that highway out for us. That He has a real, plan.
“Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters— a pathway no one knew was there!”
Psalms 77:19 NLT
God’s aim is that we have a peace-filled confidence in the trustworthiness of His promise.
“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland...Yes, I will make rivers in the dry wasteland so my chosen people can be refreshed.” Isaiah 43:19-20 NLT
Lord of Heaven, thank you for always making a way out when we feel over our heads, when things get too deep, when we feel like we are up against a wall. You always make a safe place for us to walk. And a place for us to sleep and rest when the battles are over. You make rivers where there is no water and you give us the spirit of power and love and teach us to walk on the desert. We worship Lord and we worship you for you are the only wise King. We long for the new Jerusalem. We sing hallelujah for great are you Lord. Amen and amen.
Love you dear one,
Pam
