April 11

Happy Thursday! Did you ever tell someone a story and later realize you’d forgotten one of the most important details? So while to you it was an amazing story, to your listener it was simply a story. That’s what I did yesterday! My loss for words while I was praying, happened just as I received that verse I shared from a friend.

It’s amazing isn’t it? The way that God puts everything together for us right in our simple, ordinary lives? I think more often than not God has constructed our lives to be amazing and we just miss the details that make it so—we either just forget the details or never see them in the first place.

“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.” Romans‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Embracing what God does for us and fixing our attention on Him—being changed from the inside out—and let Him bring out the very best in us. No one but God will develop us in to well formed, mature people who respond quickly to Him. People who realize what he has done and what he is capable of doing.

Lord Jesus we want to place our everyday ordinary, walking around lives and place them before you as our offering. We want to be a people that you can take joy in, that you can smell a sweet fragrance of thanksgiving from. You are good and you are great. Help us to see the amazing things you do for us each day and we will embrace it. We pray that you will be with us to stand against temptation when it seems like it is easier to blend in with the crowd rather than stand alone for what is right. We want to keep our eyes on you and not on the things of this life. We love you Lord and we praise your name. Amen and amen.

Love you dear friend,

Pam
