March 15-Our Enemy

Happy Friday! I hope you’ve had a good week. I have and I’m almost recovered from the dreaded flu — i feel really good until about mid afternoon when I hit the wall. I was thinking yesterday how easy it is when you get tired and exhausted to just to lose our resolve and give up our determination and eat what ever is in front of us or just ignore the mess or forget anything productive we’d planned to do. And the frightening thing is, at that point, we are a perfect target for the enemy.

“Stay alert! Watch out for your great enemy, the devil. He prowls around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour. Stand firm against him, and be strong in your faith. Remember that your family of believers all over the world is going through the same kind of suffering you are. In his kindness God called you to share in his eternal glory by means of Christ Jesus. So after you have suffered a little while, he will restore, support, and strengthen you, and he will place you on a firm foundation.” 1 Peter‬ ‭5:8-10‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Our avowed enemy—of all mankind but especially of the elect of God—is always on the hunt looking for the easy kill. He’s sliding around like the snake he is and when we are lagging behind, we become easy prey.

But what’s so great just following this warning by Peter is the great promise. We have the assurance that after we stand strong, we will share in God’s eternal glory, living with Him forever. He will restore us, strengthen us, and put us back on a firm foundation to equip us to finish out this journey. And let me tell you, that just sounds amazing to my tired feet at the end of a long day, what about yours?

Father God thank you for the promise of restoration and regeneration. When we are running low and need extra resolve to stand firm, we praise you for warning us and giving us the strength we need at any specific time we call on you. We are so grateful for the reward of sharing in your eternal glory and some days, that is what makes our journey worth the walk. We are so blessed to be called your people and we rejoice that you are our God. Our souls sing to your glory and our hearts rejoice in your holy Name. We love you Lord. Amen and amen.

Love you dear one,

Pam
