February 22-Learning

Happy Friday! I sure hope you’ve had a good week. We are having a little warmer weather here, hip hip hurray! I’ve been doing a lot of studying practices and processes at my new job—it’s different from anything I’ve ever done before, so I’ve been learning a lot. I’ve had several people teach me and what is interesting is every person is able to teach me in a little different way, so I gain a perspective depending on who I am learning from and some are better than others. A great thing about being in a relationship with Jesus is that we learn from Him—the perfect teacher.

““Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:28-30‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Jesús never intends for our learning to be heavy, but He does intend for us to be learners and I believe He intends for us to be life-long learners. And the more we study and learn, the more we hunger and thirst after Him. Being centered on Jesus really helps us to put the cares of this world into their perspective.

The word for learning in the Greek can be translated as “to direct one’s mind toward something.” From a Christ-centered perspective, it would mean that we focus ourselves on doing the very will of God, and being a disciple of Jesus—focusing our hearts and minds on our Savior. We have record of Jesus talking 286 times about being His disciple or about learning from Him. He obviously wanted us to know how important that relationship with Him is.

Lord Jesus we want to sit at your feet and learn from you. Your word teaches us how that you want a relationship with us and that you want to give us an abundant life. Help us Lord to never forget that you are our shield and defender and the provider of our needs. We praise you and magnify your great name. We want to be attached to you for you are the air we breathe. Bless us with your presence Amen and amen.

Love you dear one,

Pam
