January 3–The Invisible

Happy Thursday to you! I’ve been reading about prayer lately and one thing I’ve come across that I never really considered before is that when we pray, we are entering into a realm of spiritual warfare with the enemy. Wow, right? This thing we do called prayer is serious business—we can’t take it too lightly—and this realm is invisible.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand...praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints—”

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6:10-13, 18‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Sometimes we think our battles are with the visible, like political leaders, terrorists, abortionists or sometimes even our neighbors, but in truth the invisible enemy is just using and manipulating the visible to do his evil will. The only way to stand against is by wearing the armor of God and with much prayer and supplication. We have to remember this battle, is not ours—our job is to stand on God’s word and persevere in prayer. Persevere to the end.

God of the Angel armies, you are the one who battled all the forces of hell and won. Help us Lord to remember that YOU are the beginning and the end and nothing shall stand against you. You defeated death and the grave and the entire universe declares your majesty! Help us to see the invisible and help us to remember the battle belongs to you. You go before us and still have our back—you are the great I Am. Even when it looks like we’re surrounded, we can rest assured that we are surrounded by you. Help us to preserve and teach us to love the One who blesses more than the blessing.

Amen and amen.

Love you dear friend,

Pam
