January 23-Never Alone

Happy Wednesday. It’s a good day to have a good day, right? Sometimes, it’s all about how we approach the day and sometimes, the day just takes us over. We can begin one task and all of a sudden there are three more things that demand our attention. Before you know it, our minds are filled with the things of the day rather than the things of God. We might go through a whole day and never think about listening for God’s voice or asking Him for guidance.

How incredible is it though, that our God never forgets about us? No matter where we are, what we are doing, or who we are with, our God never forgets us.

“I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence! If I go up to heaven, you are there; if I go down to the grave, you are there. If I ride the wings of the morning, if I dwell by the farthest oceans, even there your hand will guide me, and your strength will support me. I could ask the darkness to hide me and the light around me to become night— but even in darkness I cannot hide from you. To you the night shines as bright as day. Darkness and light are the same to you.” Psalms‬ ‭139:7-12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Even when we aren’t sure we are connected, even if we’ve totally forgotten about Him, the Spirit is always with us. We can’t out run Him, find a mountain high enough or find a hole deep enough to hide from Him. Even when we can’t “feel” Him, His word tells us He is still with us. There are lots of things we can’t “see” (sound waves, light waves, atomic structures) but we know they are there. We see and feel their effects. Likewise, if we listen and if we wait, we will know God’s Spirit lives within us—and we will see the effects. And when others see those effects, it’s a good day for us to have a good day.

Lord Almighty, I love to read in Your word that You are with me even when I don’t feel it. Help us Father to know we are connected to You and teach us to listen for Your still, small voice. Praise You God for always finding me—in the desert or on the wings of the morning, I’m never too far that You leave me. Even the darkness is light to You. We are asking You to remove any blocks or hinderance in our lives that keeps us from hearing You or that keeps us from thinking of You. We want to believe our hearts are filled with You even if we can’t perceive it. Touch us this day, in a very real way to let us know Your word is true. We love You and adore You Savior. Amen and amen.

Love you dear friend,

Pam
