December19–O Woship the King

Happy Wednesday. Can you believe Christmas is less than a week away? This year, let’s follow the path of the Magi who fell on their faces in real worship to the Christ Child. He was probably babbling away and toddling around, but these advisors to the King, learned men, worshiped at those little chubby feet. These well respected men who were know for solving the mysteries of their world, did not care about formalities. They were filled with the wonder of it all and fully worshipped this little boy, the Savior of the world.

“And when they had come into the house, they saw the young Child with Mary His mother, and fell down and worshiped Him. And when they had opened their treasures, they presented gifts to Him: gold, frankincense, and myrrh.” Matthew‬ ‭2:11‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

True worship means a change in position. The wisemen didn’t care about their exalted positions—they fell down, kneeled down, or bowed down (depending on what version you’re reading). When we realize we are in the presence of the King, it changes our physical position.

True worship means joy. The Magi were overcome with exceedingly great joy. How joyful are we when we finally “get it” and understand in our worship that we are in the presence of Jesus?

True worship means giving of something valuable. The wise men brought treasure to the Christ Child. What treasures can we bring to Him this Christmas?

True worship is the meeting of God and humanity and that my friend, is the real miracle of Christmas—God meeting man.

“Oh come, let us sing to the LORD! Let us shout joyfully to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving; Let us shout joyfully to Him with psalms. For the LORD is the great God, And the great King above all gods.” Psalms‬ ‭95:1-3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬

Dear Jesus teach us to truly worship. We long to feel your presence today and we want to experience the true joy that only comes from knowing you. You are the great King above all and we shout to you, for you are the Rock of our Salvation. As we come into your presence, we bring thanksgiving and praise. Thank you Lord for loving us and for your great grace. Amen and amen.

Love you dear one,

Pam
