November 17-Time slips away

Happy Weekend. I’ve missed writing this week but I’ve been a little under the weather. I trust your week has been good. My grandson Braden turned 21 this week. Mercy how time slips away. It seems that one minute you’ve got all these title ones and the next they are grown. I think the worst thing about time getting away from you is just that as it slips away, all those things you should have done, or wanted to do, you put off to another da and they never happen. Like if I had spent the appropriate time studying God’s word, it would be a second language to me by now. And all those things we said that we can’t take back, or don’t take back leave hurt feelings and separate people rather than build relationships because we think we can fix it all later.

It’s so very clear all though God’s word that our primary relationship is with him—that vertical relationship. But secondarily is our horizontal relationships with others. It is impossible to truly love God and not love others. It’s also impossible to love God and not create relationships. It’s our calling to love others and bring them into the fold yet for that to happen relationships must be nurtured. I don’t know about you but I’ve never had a good relationship with anyone whom I didn’t put effort into.

No matter how many times someone does us wrong, we forgive them.

“Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus answered, “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭18:21-22‬ ‭NLT

“Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation. ’ ””

‭‭Luke‬ ‭11:4‬ NLT

Forgiveness and asking for forgiveness is a major theme throughout the Bible, but especially in the New Testament. It’s a pretty important lesson for us to ask for and to give forgiveness to all. And forgiveness doesn’t mean that we hold it in our hearts for the next time we are hurt. Aren’t you glad Jesus doesn’t do that o us?

“For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭103:11-12‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Dear Jesus thank you for forgiving us. You are good and you are great and our desire is to be more like you in every way. Help us to forgive and to put away every hurtful and harsh thing we endure and help us to not cause those feelings to others. We love you and praise you for you great mercy and grace you so easily bestow on us. We glorify you this day and ask for your comfort for those who are hurting and in need of healing. Amen and amen.

Love you dear one,

Pam
