August 27-God Winks

Good Monday morning to you. I hope you had a great weekend and found time to appreciate the wonderful blessings of the Father of Light. I had to buy a new bed frame and I wanted one of those that would raise the head up. I kept looking at them but they were expensive, even on line. Then, I found one on Facebook that I could afford but I needed Oscar to take the truck and trailer to get it. The trailer was dirty, so my friend Millie and I swept it off while Oscar grabbed the truck keys. We all jumped in and headed off to pick up my bargain purchase. A few blocks away, Oscar said “Where are we going?” And I started looking for my phone and when I couldn’t find it, Millie remembered I’d left it on the truck bumper. We turned around to look for it but we’re all pretty sure it was going to be a mess after the trailer ran over it or another car hit it, but we prayed for that phone! And alas, about 6 blocks back, there it was, right on the road, with a couple of missed calls. Blessings of God. Some could say that’s just lucky. Some could say that’s because of the physics of the motion of the truck. I know it’s a way God shows me that He is still in control of even the smallest details of our lives—even when we are absent minded—He takes delight in blessing us.

There’s a book I read sometime ago that explained how God winks. It spoke to all of the many times good things happen or little coincidences happen and we overlook the fact that God is in complete control. He loves to bless us and we only have to be watching to catch a little message—a wink—from Him here and there. It’s such reassurance to know how much He lives and cares for us that He IS in the details.

“The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives. Though they stumble, they will never fall, for the Lord holds them by the hand.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭37:23-24‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Dear Lord thank you for loving us and caring about every part of us—even lost cell phones. You are so great and mighty that it is inconceivable that such little things matter to you, but they do because we matter to you. We love you and praise you and ask to to pour out your blessing on us as we start this another week. Surround us with your Spirit and teach us your ways. We want to be more like you. Amen and amen.

Love you dear one,

Pam
