June 30–Weekend and On-ramps

Happy weekend! Well, this will be a busy one in most places. I was driving to Springfield yesterday to see my friend Carla and the traffic was horrendous. About a mile before each on-ramp, the traffic would come to a near standstill. It’s definitely vacation time and so many cities will be busting with tourists.

..."We have a strong city; he sets up salvation as walls and bulwarks. Open the gates, that the righteous nation that keeps faith may enter in. You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭26:1-4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Open those gates of the city so the righteous can come on in! Don’t you just love that picture? Do you wonder if the on-ramps will be backing up traffic into that city? The one who trusts in you, you keep completely whole. These are the ones who stay at it, who don’t give up and don’t quit. These are the righteous ones for whom Jesus will open the flood gates of heaven and who will be getting on the highway. It’s the way your “map-ap”, (which ever version you read) tells you to go, you know, because with Jesus, it’s a straight shot and we have a sure thing!

So this weekend, dream, smile, enjoy life, imagine, be kind, inspire, read, have fun and explore. But what ever you end up doing, remember your destination and with whom your trust lies and never, never quit.

Dear Jesus thank you for building the highway to Heaven for us. Your blood paved the road and your grace makes it possible for us to get on. We love you and now before you this day. We pray for your surrounding and your guidance as we travel this life. Give us love for those around us that we might share the Good News of your great love with them. You are an awesome God. Amen and amen.

Love you dear one,

Pam
