June 1-The Love of God

It’s the weekend and I hope you are having a good one. I am packing up the last of my house and getting my things moved completely into storage today. It’s a bittersweet process but come August, it will all be worth it.

We spent time yesterday with mom in the hospital and watched her with her little teddy bear she calls Kentucky. She loves that little bear. She stokes it, talks to it, hugs it and then she will show him to you. The care she takes with him reminds me of the care that God takes of us.

He loves us, listens to us, surrounds us and shines through us. He wants to keep us close and just care for us because He genuinely loves us.

“And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in them...We love because he first loved us.” 1 John‬ ‭4:16, 19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

And what do we have to do for this amazing power of God that never leaves us, never ends, and is beyond all human comprehension? Nothing. Absolutely nothing. Just like Kentucky the bear is incapable of doing any thing to make my mom love him, we can’t DO anything to that changes the reckless love of God. It “chases us down, fights ‘til we’re found, and leaves the ninety-nine...we don’t deserve it, we can’t earn it, still He gave His life away...”

“For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:38-39‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Dear Jesus thank you for you amazing love that is unmatched by anything we know in the human world. We bask in in and are surrounded by it and could not live one day without it. We praise your name and lift you high because of your great love. You alone are worthy and you alone are God. You are the great El Elyon, the God most high. Hallelujah to our King. Amen and amen.

Love you dear one,

Pam
