May 25–God is Good

Happy Friday! Are you ready for this 3-day weekend? It should be good weather where I am and I hope you’ll have blue skies, too.

Yesterday was our sweet Gracie’s birthday. She is 12 and it seems like only last year that we found out she was to be ours. Born 1/2 way around the world, she was destined to be Gracie White, a middle class American girl living in Missouri. What a great God we serve to orchestrate the perfect work and how marvelous that we serve a God who is concerned about the details of our lives.

“What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?” Romans 8:31

It hasn’t all been smooth sailing. Before Gracie came into our lives, my daughter and her husband had suffered terribly, but as I heard the other day,

“Do we serve God because of what He can do for us or do we serve God for what He is to us?” And that is the question we all have to ultimately decide for ourselves because the God of the good times, is still God in the terrible times. So do we love him for what He means to us or what He does for us?

“...Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?...“No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:35, 37-38‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Dear Jesus we praise you and glorify you for we know that even the powers of hell will not keep you from us—your love transcends it all. It is overwhelming, never-ending love that we can rest assured in. You are El Elyon, the Almighty God of the universe and you still care for us. Thank you Lord for your goodness and grace merited out to each of us. We love you and worship you this day. Amen and amen.

Love you dear one,

Pam
