March 6-Snuggle Up

Good Tuesday to you. How are you this day? Spring is starting to show itself here and there a little more every day in Oklahoma and no one could be more excited about that than this gal. I’m anxiously awaiting the redbuds because then...yes then, I know it’s for real..It’s here! 


I was watching my granddaughter yesterday with her dog. It’s a little fluffy thing with a smashed nose but she adores it and the feeling is mutual. When Gracie is home, they are not far apart. If she’s reading a book, he’s sitting next to her on lookout. If she’s watching TV, so is he. While I was watching her, she would talk to him just calmly, and almost continually. They simply enjoy each other’s presence. 

I thought of how God wants us to enjoy His presence in very much the same way. Just be together, talking with Him all the time, about everything, and enjoying Him being close and caring for us. I kept watching that little dog scooting so close to Gracie and thinking how the Savior wants so badly to scoot close to us and just surround us and hear from us and just share precious moments with us. I think we get caught up in thinking that to talk to God we have to pray formally and maybe use all the right words like they do in church when all the Father wants from us is for us to talk to him. All day. Without stopping. Something crosses your mind, share it right then because that’s when He wants to hear it.

“How can we thank God enough for you in return for all the joy we have in the presence of our God because of you?” 1 Thessalonians‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Thank you Father for letting us fully enjoy Your presence and making it like spring. You bring the warm and turn the gray to color and by Your being there, our world is alive. You are the God of Heaven and Earth and yet You walk with us and talk with us and love these very broken and falible people that we are. You are our God and we are Your people. We worship You this day and lift You high. Praise You Jehovah. Amen and amen.

Happy Friday. It’s the end of another week and we have had more opportunities to share the love of Christ with those around us and sometimes that takes quite a bit of effort. I don’t know about you, but I’m not always anxious to embrace others and really listen to them or share with them (especially those who I don’t know well). Happy Wednesday to you. I hope your week is going well. Yesterday, I went to Sams. I was out of things like trash bags, toilet paper, and chicken, so off I went. I like going to Sams because there is always lots to look at and the isles are nice and wide. Everytime I’m there, I am amazed at how much stuff and everything from diapers to TVs to mangos to beds. It just seems incredible that so many things in such quantities are all under one roof.  King David never saw a store with as much stuff aa Sams of course, but he did see countless miracles and understand that God has plans. He knew from creation and history that he was serving a God of miracles and he know that God loved him and his people and would take care of them. It’s Thursday and I woke up to the blowing wind! Lots of it—I’m dreading Boomer waking up and having to go outside with him. That harsh, bitter wind seems cruel and almost evil. But I’ll wrap myself up with a fe layers and boots and brave it all.  Sometimes I think we try to do that with things we know aren’t right—things that are evil. We try to wrap ourselves up and just wade into it, but Paul tells us we should reject it—stay away from it. “Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.
