Feb 15-Love Each Other

Happy Friday to you. Last night Casey, Gracie, and Cooper spent the night with me and we watched Sweet Home Alabama. In the movie there is a line where one of Melanie’s friends is chastising her for running off to New York and saying to her that when she left she “didn’t only leave Jake, but you left behind all of us too!” It points to the fact that our lives are three dimensional—we are interconnected and our actions have consequences that have effects on other people even when we don’t realize it.

So often we hear “who is it gonna hurt” or “it’s a victimless crime” or even “I’ll just be on my own” and the fact is none of us are really on our own. We are all connected to some degree and inter-related with our actions.

“Everything in the world is about to be wrapped up, so take nothing for granted. Stay wide-awake in prayer. Most of all, love each other as if your life depended on it. Love makes up for practically anything. Be quick to give a meal to the hungry, a bed to the homeless—cheerfully. Be generous with the different things God gave you, passing them around so all get in on it: if words, let it be God’s words; if help, let it be God’s hearty help. That way, God’s bright presence will be evident in everything through Jesus, and he’ll get all the credit as the One mighty in everything—encores to the end of time. Oh, yes!” 1 Peter‬ ‭4:7-11‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Love each other as if your life depended on it—and it very well may! When we start to look around at the people we are affecting with our actions, and begin to really love them, it changes us and how we approach life. We are much less me-centered and much more others-minded. In other words, we become a little more like Jesús and a whole lot more content.

Dear God of love, make me and mould me and make me more like you Jesús. I pray your blessings and your protection this day as we seek to do your will. Thank you and praise you. You are the Great El Elyon. Amen and amen.

Love you dear friend,

Pam.
