January 29-Get your boots on

Happy Monday and I hope you are ready to begin this week walking with Jesús. Have you read your Bible today? For all it’s worth? You know I’ve been in church my whole life and the Bible and Bible stories have always been second nature to me. However, when I start to dig a little deeper, I can get overwhelmed and confused, and I need some help. I don’t try to navigate through it with out tools and guides. I have references I use, on-line helps, and (the best) friends who know and have studied hard to understand the scripture to its fullest.

New Christians I know have a very difficult time trying to put it all together and make sense of it. It can be daunting in even knowing where to begin. One thing I do know is that everyone regardless of Bible knowledge everyone needs a guide, a person who knows more than you whom you can call on and good study guides. No one is equipped to do it totally alone. Trekking through the Bible can be a dusty and rocky road. It’s easy to take a wrong turn here and there but when you get confused or stumble over something, consult trail books, helps, and people. And as you become more knowledgeable, you can also step into the role of helping others.

“You’ve been raised on the Message of the faith and have followed sound teaching. Now pass on this counsel to the followers of Jesus there, and you’ll be a good servant of Jesus. Stay clear of silly stories that get dressed up as religion. Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever. You can count on this. Take it to heart. This is why we’ve thrown ourselves into this venture so totally. We’re banking on the living God, Savior of all men and women, especially believers.”

‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭4:6-10‬ ‭MSG‬‬

“Exercise DAILY in God” means exactly that. Everyday, we study, we meditate and we pray. Every day. So as you put your boots on to get serious about hiking through the Bible and following the Master, my advice to you is don’t go alone.

Oh great Jehovah, God of Wonder we lift you high and praise you. We pray Father for your help and your presence as we follow the Rabbi through your Holy Scripture. We ask for teachers, mentors and friends who can help to guide and direct us as we seek to fully know your Word. We pray that we would give of ourselves to help others as they come along beside us in the faith. All praise to the King of Glory, You alone are good. Amen and amen.

Love you dear one,

Pam
