January 25-Are We Lazy?
I thought, sometimes that’s me, I’m the dog. I need some spiritual exercise. I’ll get a little and think “That’s enough, now I can let the sermon carry me the rest of the way home.” Do you ever feel lazy like that? Do you ever think God is saying under His breath “This is embarrassing. I’ve got to get my child some exercise?” And then, when things come into our lives that demand exercise out of us because nothing else will get us through our situation, we think “God, why would you do that to us?” And even though we know full well He didn’t DO anything to us, we understand there are times he does allow things to come into our lives to help us and to stretch us and to make us more like Jesús—for good.
“...Exercise daily in God—no spiritual flabbiness, please! Workouts in the gymnasium are useful, but a disciplined life in God is far more so, making you fit both today and forever. You can count on this. Take it to heart. This is why we’ve thrown ourselves into this venture so totally. We’re banking on the living God, Savior of all men and women, especially believers.”
1 Timothy 4:6-10 MSG
Spirit of the Living God, fall fresh on me. We pray Father that you would take us and tune us into the people of the cross you would have us to be and that we would follow you with all that we have all the days of our lives. We praise you and glorify your Name. Amen and amen.
Love you precious friend,
Pam.
