November 19-Not Home Yet

Joy to you on this Sabbath day! I pray that you will be blessed by your worship and the time you spend in praise with fellow believers today.

Over the last couple of weeks I’ve been trying to make some decisions and even though I’m fairly sure of the right moves, I’ve been dragging my feet just a bit. My daughter has also been in the thick of trying to discern the will of God over a life decision and we’ve both been praying, searching the scripture, and talking with mature believers.

Decisions!

Do you ever wish you could just not make them? Just let some outside force make them for you? From my perspective, I need to decide to move forward with life. It’s still pretty easy for me to bog down and wonder “Why was I sick that day?” Then, I hear a gentle reminder telling me how precious life is. All life. The unborn, the elderly, and yes, even mine. And to disrespect that gift is an affront to the Savior.

So, instead of anymore wondering.... “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.”

‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭9:15‬ ‭HCSB‬‬

Amen?

And yes, sometimes even in this indescribable gift we call life, we do feel like round pegs in square holes. But we aren’t meant to feel comfortable or fit-in here. “All I know is I’m not home yet, This is not where I belong, Take this world but give me Jesus, This is not where I belong...” There’s a big difference is being grateful and respecting this gift of life and belonging IN this world. This world is broken and isn’t our real home—the place where we are headed toward. It’s just a temporary stop.

“So here’s what I want you to do, God helping you: Take your everyday, ordinary life—your sleeping, eating, going-to-work, and walking-around life—and place it before God as an offering. Embracing what God does for you is the best thing you can do for him. Don’t become so well-adjusted to your culture that you fit into it without even thinking. Instead, fix your attention on God. You’ll be changed from the inside out. Readily recognize what he wants from you, and quickly respond to it. Unlike the culture around you, always dragging you down to its level of immaturity, God brings the best out of you, develops well-formed maturity in you.”

‭‭Romans‬ ‭12:1-2‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Today, thank the Master for giving to you the great gift of life and ask Him to help you alway feel like a round peg so you can remember you’re not home yet.

Love you dear one,

Pam
