Happy Wednesday—You’ve Not Been Cheated

Happy Wednesday and I hope you are doing well this morning! Last night while I was studying, I was reading through some of my old journals and ran across some notes I’d scribbled at time. “Old Testament followings, lead to New Testament legacies—We have no idea how many generations will be affected when we follow the path and often the displacements of God.”

Do you think sometimes we feel like we have been cheated? We have the life and the path we want all planned out then... lo and behold, God leads us along something very different. Just like the song says “some through the water, some through flood, some through the fire, but all through the blood”. Just like the little servant girl in the story of Naaman. I’m sure she had a life all planned out that did not include being taken captive and cleaning the mud off the floors of her captives. A life of servitude and treated as though she were less than human—not what a little girl dreams about when she’s playing with her dolls at her mama’s feet. But God had different plans for her. He displaced her.

“At this time Aramean raiders had invaded the land of Israel, and among their captives was a young girl who had been given to Naaman’s wife as a maid. One day the girl said to her mistress, “I wish my master would go to see the prophet in Samaria. He would heal him of his leprosy.””

‭‭2 Kings‬ ‭5:2-3‬ ‭NLT‬‬

She was chosen, not cheated and generations later, even 3,000 years or so later, we are still talking about her bravery and her faithfulness to God because she understood that her path was the one God had set for her. We don’t even know her name but she must have been a kind girl for not only her mistress to pay attention to her but her master gave her advise credence as well. She had built a good reputation with her captors. She watched and she waited for a time to share with them about her God in anyway that she could. Even the Lord himself speaks of the miracle of Naaman.

“And many in Israel had leprosy in the time of the prophet Elisha, but the only one healed was Naaman, a Syrian.”” Luke‬ ‭4:27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

If you find your path has been shifted or even displaced, realize the Father is El Deah—The God of Knowledge, and Yawhew Shammah—the God who is always there...He knows it all and he is always there for us. Who better to direct our path and to displace it if it needs to be re-aligned? He’s got this. Live your life in such a fashion that all around you never doubt who you are or what you stand for. And remember, you’ve not been cheated, you’ve been chosen..we all have!

Praise Him for choosing you today.

Love you dear friend,

Pam
