Happy Saturday—God is There

Happy Saturday! How are things today for you? Are things good or do you feel like you are facing some tough times all alone? Trying to stand up against those who would do you wrong and here is no one who has your back? Have you ever felt like that? That’s how the Psalmist felt when he wrote this passage.

“Who stood up for me against the wicked? Who took my side against evil workers? If GOD hadn’t been there for me, I never would have made it. The minute I said, “I’m slipping, I’m falling,” your love, GOD, took hold and held me fast. When I was upset and beside myself, you calmed me down and cheered me up.” Psalm‬ ‭94:16-19‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Your love calmed me and cheered me. What an amazing thing to realize that the love of the Savior has the power to fully take control of our situations that are out of control. Those times when we are beside ourselves He can simply speak “peace be still” to the nightmares of our lives.

Do you ever feel like He is all you have? We sing “He is all I need” but do we truly mean that? Because if we get to the point where everyone else has deserted us and He is all we really have, can we live with that? This is what Apostle Paul said when he was in the middle of false accusations, beatings, and facing prison.

“At my preliminary hearing no one stood by me. They all ran like scared rabbits. But it doesn’t matter—the Master stood by me and helped me spread the Message loud and clear to those who had never heard it. I was snatched from the jaws of the lion! God’s looking after me, keeping me safe in the kingdom of heaven. All praise to him, praise forever! Oh, yes!”

‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭4:16-18‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Paul was praising God through the entire process not only for keeping him safe, but for using the situation he was in to get the Message out—for helping him spread it to all who were within hearing of the proceedings. He saw the bigger picture.

Sometimes when it looks like we’ve been forsaken, everyone has left us and God is letting us go through some awful things, maybe we need to get a bigger view of what’s happening. Are we missing the bigger picture? Is God using this to get the Message out to those in earshot of this situation?

Today, let’s pray together for all those who are alone in tough situations where ever they are in the world—maybe it’s you. Our brothers and sisters in Christ that are just grinding through the awful stuff with only the Master, but praise God He IS there with them and He IS using the situation to spread the Message to all those around.

Love you friend,

Pam
