Happy Friday-whats in your heart?

Happy Friday! I'm so glad that you're reading this with me today and I'm praying that you've had a great week with our Lord and Savior. I had a good Bible study on Romans last night. One of the things we talked about reminded me of some verses in the first part of I Thessalonians where Paul is explaining the make up of the church. He speaks to “we”, “you” and “they.”

"We" have found our calling and are charged with living spirit-filled and spirit-led lives. "You" are charged with bearing that fruit to be an example so others can see how you have changed. "They" have the opportunity to taste the fruit and make their decision. Together (we, you, and they) make up the church.

“Do you know that all over the provinces of both Macedonia and Achaia believers look up to you? The word has gotten around. Your lives are echoing the Master’s Word, not only in the provinces but all over the place. The news of your faith in God is out. We don’t even have to say anything anymore— you’re the message! People come up and tell us how you received us with open arms, how you deserted the dead idols of your old life so you could embrace and serve God, the true God. They marvel at how expectantly you await the arrival of his Son, whom he raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescued us from certain doom.”

‭‭1 Thessalonians‬ ‭1:7-10‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Is that how people see us? Expectant at the arrival of Jesus?

You know we DO what we believe. Our actions carry out what is in our hearts. So what do we believe? Rubber bracelets, going to church 3 out of 4 (or even 4 out of 4) Sundays doesn’t necessarily transform our hearts and move the hearts of others. We need to live what we believe—then and only then will we be able to make a difference in the lives of others. In out comings and goings, in our everyday conversations speaking the name of Jesus. Then and only then will they see Him in us. Living expectantly for His arrival.

And if we don’t? Are we responsible for keeping someone from knowing Christ? That my friend is a heavy responsibility and brings great dishonor to our Father.

Today, look up. In your decisions and your actions, think first of Christ. Live what you believe.

Love you sweet friend,

Pam
