It's Saturday - Higher than the Highest

Happy Saturday to you! I hope your week went well. We had a great day in the Sierras. Patti Beth spent most of her day in the birthing center cleaning and sorting. Last night though, she was able to see a great sunset from the mesa when we traveled up high to the hanger.

When I'm in the mountains looking over the canyons and have a perspective of the altitude, I get the tiniest glimpse of the magnitude of the greatness of our God. He is higher than the highest. He is El Elyon, the God most high.

El Elyon is above all. El Elyon makes the supremacy of God clear. A direct translation of the word means the strongest of the strong and the highest of the high and just like the song says, "no one can ever take His crown away."

In doing a little research, I found out that Hinduism and Pantheism speak of God as a part of the universe. That could easily take someone in who hasn't had any one share with them about the true God and His nature. But the One True God, El Elyon is not a part of the universe. He is the ruler of the universe. He created the universe. He is the transcendent God. He is the Most High God. He is El Elyon.

“We look at this Son and see the God who cannot be seen. We look at this Son and see God’s original purpose in everything created. For everything, absolutely everything, above and below, visible and invisible, rank after rank after rank of angels— everything got started in him and finds its purpose in him. He was there before any of it came into existence and holds it all together right up to this moment. And when it comes to the church, he organizes and holds it together, like a head does a body. He was supreme in the beginning and—leading the resurrection parade—he is supreme in the end. From beginning to end he’s there, towering far above everything, everyone. So spacious is he, so roomy, that everything of God finds its proper place in him without crowding. Not only that, but all the broken and dislocated pieces of the universe—people and things, animals and atoms—get properly fixed and fit together in vibrant harmonies, all because of his death, his blood that poured down from the cross.”

‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1:15-18‬ ‭MSG‬‬

Clearly, Jesus is our El Elyon. He isn't part of the world, He holds it all together. All of us. He took all of the brokenness and made us fit together in brilliant harmony by his blood. He is higher than the highest.

Today, praise the name of El Elyon the great God Almighty, the God of the Angel Armies and Ruler of the Universe who is stronger than the strong. No one will ever take His crown away. Praise El Elyon.

Love you friend,

Pam
