Happy Sunday-El Olam

Happy Lords Day to you and what a wonderful day it is to worship the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. He's been so good to us and today is the day we have set aside to honor Him and I pray that's what you are planning to do with this day.

Last night while Tal and I were watching college football we were getting frustrated with some of the calls the refs were making. We could not figure out how they were calling the games. Especially the targeting call. We even looked up and read the rule but it just didn't seem at all consistent or even that it made much sense in how it was being applied and certainly not from game to game.

Isn't is great that our God is always the same...yesterday, today and forever? For you and me and for kids in the mountains of Mexico or old people in Australia or teenagers in Korea? He has no favorites in geography, personality, or time period. Always consistent.

He is El Olam, the Everlasting God, the God that never changes.

““I am the Alpha and the Omega—the beginning and the end,” says the Lord God. “I am the one who is, who always was, and who is still to come—the Almighty One.””

‭‭Revelation‬ ‭1:8‬ ‭NLT‬‬

And the Psalmist says:

“Lord, you have been our dwelling place throughout all generations. Before the mountains were born or you brought forth the whole world, from everlasting to everlasting you are God.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭90:1-2‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Isn't it a wonderful thing to know that in this world where nothing is ever the same and things change from one minute to the next, one thing remains? One thing is constant. Time nor space does not alter our God.

“A thousand years in your sight are like a day that has just gone by, or like a watch in the night.”

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭90:4‬ ‭NIV‬‬

These verses tell us that unlike the outcome of some of yesterday's football games, there are no surprises to God. As Corrie Ten Boom says, "There's no panic in heaven." God knows the past and the future at the same time. Jesus , is our El Olam. That is the reason He is known as the King of the Ages.

Today, let's praise the name of El Olam for never changing, for being our constant in this crazy world, and for always being the One who loves, saves and delivers us. Amen?

Love you dear friend,

Pam
