Good Friday--Adonai, Adonai

Good Friday morning from sunny Samachique! It's a beautiful day in the Sierras and it's my friend Delia's birthday so later today we hope to be able to celebrate with her.

Yesterday, we were discussing hell--(such an uplifting subject, I know!) But mostly, we wondered what does Satan get out of it? Why does he want it to be so terrible and what is the payoff for him? We came to the consensus that he wants someone to share in his punishment. He doesn't want to take it alone much like a child who has been found out that says "he did it too!" Completely the opposite of our Jesus who was totally innocent, yet took all our punishment.

“But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed. We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to our own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:5-6‬ ‭NIV‬‬

By his wounds, his stripes, all of our sins, transgressions, and iniquities are healed...are removed...they were all laid on Him And He took them all alone. At times I get frustrated when part of this passage is pulled out of context to only apply to physical healing. Then I remind myself that the passage IS being read and tha nderstanding may follow. But you my friend, sometime today, read the chapter and again remember the context that the greatest sacrifice and the greatest miracle was our sins and our brokenness are made well and whole by his stripes and his blood.

“He was beaten, he was tortured, but he didn’t say a word. Like a lamb taken to be slaughtered and like a sheep being sheared, he took it all in silence. Justice miscarried, and he was led off— and did anyone really know what was happening? He died without a thought for his own welfare, beaten bloody for the sins of my people. They buried him with the wicked, threw him in a grave with a rich man, Even though he’d never hurt a soul or said one word that wasn’t true.”

‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭53:7-9‬ ‭MSG‬‬

So opposite of human nature isn't He? So opposite of Satan!! NO ONE, no not one is like our great Adonai, (Lord and Master).

Will you praise Adonai with me today? Thank him for His great love and mercy unending that He take our blame...take the stripes so that we may be saved from our sins?

Love you dear one,

Pam
