Tuesday

It's Tuesday and this is the day God has intentionally made for you and for me to serve Him. 


Yesterday, I had an insurance adjuster come to my house since last spring's storms left my roof with hail damage and destroyed my dock ramp. He agreed with me on my roof, but on my dock, we had a difference of opinion. I explained that the heavy winds had blown heavy trees into it and pounded it. He said that the trees were only there because of the flood and they don't cover flood damage on docks. It seemed to be that we saw the same damage, but looked at it from opposite sides. 


Do you ever wonder if God thinks the same thing about us? We may be seeing the same situation, but we see it from different side and have totally different opinions. (And yet His is the only one that matters). He not only has the big picture view, but He's looking at it through pure and holy eyes. 


“Whenever, though, they turn to face God as Moses did, God removes the veil and there they are—face-to-face! They suddenly recognize that God is a living, personal presence, not a piece of chiseled stone. And when God is personally present, a living Spirit, that old, constricting legislation is recognized as obsolete. We’re free of it! All of us! Nothing between us and God, our faces shining with the brightness of his face. And so we are transfigured much like the Messiah, our lives gradually becoming brighter and more beautiful as God enters our lives and we become like him.”

"...we become like Him. " How awesome is it that we can continue to grow in our faith and be more like Him everyday. And in doing so, we can move to a place where we see the situation like Jesus sees it--from a perspective that will allow us to respond in a holy manner, like Jesus would. So when we look at other and their damage from life's storms we don't spend so much time worrying so much about how the damage in life happened, but how we can we help to fix it. Do we respond to people like Jesus? Or like we don't want to pay the claim? 


Purpose your heart to open your spiritual eyes and this very day, become more like the Master.

Happy Friday. It’s the end of another week and we have had more opportunities to share the love of Christ with those around us and sometimes that takes quite a bit of effort. I don’t know about you, but I’m not always anxious to embrace others and really listen to them or share with them (especially those who I don’t know well). Happy Wednesday to you. I hope your week is going well. Yesterday, I went to Sams. I was out of things like trash bags, toilet paper, and chicken, so off I went. I like going to Sams because there is always lots to look at and the isles are nice and wide. Everytime I’m there, I am amazed at how much stuff and everything from diapers to TVs to mangos to beds. It just seems incredible that so many things in such quantities are all under one roof.  King David never saw a store with as much stuff aa Sams of course, but he did see countless miracles and understand that God has plans. He knew from creation and history that he was serving a God of miracles and he know that God loved him and his people and would take care of them. It’s Thursday and I woke up to the blowing wind! Lots of it—I’m dreading Boomer waking up and having to go outside with him. That harsh, bitter wind seems cruel and almost evil. But I’ll wrap myself up with a fe layers and boots and brave it all.  Sometimes I think we try to do that with things we know aren’t right—things that are evil. We try to wrap ourselves up and just wade into it, but Paul tells us we should reject it—stay away from it. “Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.
