Good Thursday morning to you. Are you ready for the day? Before you do anything else, take a minute and pray for Texas. "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." James 5:16b


Are you happy today? Did you get up feeling good? Then sing songs of praise. It's time to just offer worship and praise to the King of Kings.  


Yesterday, We stopped at Pops in Anadarko, OK. Pops is a gas station/ restaurant that specializes in bottled pop. They have every kind you can imagine and then some. When I saw all those bottles and all those colors I thought "How much to these people love their soda pop?" There were T-shirts of all colors and designs for Pops. Mugs, hats, keychains, you name it to celebrate this fun gas station. It was really amazing. 


How do we celebrate our Savior?

“The Lord is my strength and shield. I trust him with all my heart. He helps me, and my heart is filled with joy. I burst out in songs of thanksgiving." Psalms‬ ‭28:7‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Give to the Lord the glory he deserves! Bring your offering and come into his courts. Worship the Lord in all his holy splendor. Let all the earth tremble before him.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭96:8-9‬ ‭NLT‬‬


Give the Lord the glory He is due. The verse seems to indicate that giving God praise and glory isn't just a suggestion or a good idea, but rather it's a debt that we owe Him--something that is due Him. And the glory He is due needs to be proper and peculiar for the God we serve. It is a stated rule in Scripture that, respects to God must be proportioned to the nature of God. God is a spirit, therefore will be worshipped in spirit and truth. God is a God of peace, therefore we need to lift up pure hands, without wrath and bitterness. God is a holy God, therefore our praise should be sanctified. 


 Our debt we owe Him is great but He doesn't demand we pay in full--Christ Jesus has done that for us. It is our duty to give Him all the glory, honor, and praise that we can--to truly celebrate Jehovah. We owe him that much, don't we?

Today, sing praise to the King and give glory, honor and praise to the One who is worthy.

Happy Friday. It’s the end of another week and we have had more opportunities to share the love of Christ with those around us and sometimes that takes quite a bit of effort. I don’t know about you, but I’m not always anxious to embrace others and really listen to them or share with them (especially those who I don’t know well). Happy Wednesday to you. I hope your week is going well. Yesterday, I went to Sams. I was out of things like trash bags, toilet paper, and chicken, so off I went. I like going to Sams because there is always lots to look at and the isles are nice and wide. Everytime I’m there, I am amazed at how much stuff and everything from diapers to TVs to mangos to beds. It just seems incredible that so many things in such quantities are all under one roof.  King David never saw a store with as much stuff aa Sams of course, but he did see countless miracles and understand that God has plans. He knew from creation and history that he was serving a God of miracles and he know that God loved him and his people and would take care of them. It’s Thursday and I woke up to the blowing wind! Lots of it—I’m dreading Boomer waking up and having to go outside with him. That harsh, bitter wind seems cruel and almost evil. But I’ll wrap myself up with a fe layers and boots and brave it all.  Sometimes I think we try to do that with things we know aren’t right—things that are evil. We try to wrap ourselves up and just wade into it, but Paul tells us we should reject it—stay away from it. “Do not treat prophecies with contempt but test them all; hold on to what is good, reject every kind of evil.
