Friday

Happy Friday. Did this week go as fast for you as it did for me?

Yesterday, I ran a power washer. It was amazing how much cleaner areas of my deck became. But...I had to be very careful not to spray my feet because I think it would have taken the skin right off! There was some power behind that water.

“I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭1:19-21‬ ‭NLT‬‬

He is far above all...above everything. And the same power that raised Him from the dead, is the same power--"the incredible greatness of God's power" is right there "for us who believe in Him." Now, my friend...that's real power.

The three time power is used in this passage is actually three different words in the original Greek. The first is dunamis means "miraculous power". Just like in Acts where Jesus says "and you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit comes" and in Romans "...the gospel of Jesus Christ for it is the power of God unto salvation." The second is kratos that means "mighty power" as in Eph. 6 "be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might". The third is exusia that means "authority and influence" as in Col where Paul tells the believers "who (Jesus) has delivered us from the power of darkness" and in Luke "Jesus ministered the Word of God with power".

Miraculous, mighty and total authority--Christ Jesus has complete, unparalleled, unlimited power.

This is the power that we want to tap into to perfect the work of faith in our soul. But it is difficult to bring our souls to that FULL realization where we totally and completely sell out--where we are ready to venture all, including the hope of eternal life, upon His righteousness and nothing of our own doing. Nothing less than the divine power of the Almighty will work this miracle in us.

Today, breathe slowly and let the understanding of the divine power available to you sink in. Praise Him for the miracle he has worked in you.

Love you friend,
Pam
